MAP-Works is an online assessment tool designed to help students make a successful transition to ISU. Offered September 5-30, 2012 (for prize eligiblity), the 20 minute assessment identifies areas where students may need additional resources for greater success during their academic career.
Results from the survey will suggest various campus resources to students to help them achieve long-term success during their time at ISU. Last year, roughly 80% of on-campus, first-year first-time freshmen took the assessment and recorded GPAs roughly three tenths of a grade point higher than those who did not.
Taking the MAP-Works assessment comes with prizes in addition to greater academic success. MAP-Works participants will receive a coupon for a free smoothie as well as prizes specific to on-campus students within the residence halls, off-campus students and students in the Greek community at Iowa State. Additional information can be found in a Frequently Asked Questions section.
